Effective Dosage: There is currently no clinical evidence that Forsythia Suspensa (Lian Qiao) is effective as a weight loss supplement at any dosage. Chinese herbalists recommend 6 - 15 g per day for treatment of some ailments (not weight loss related).

Forsythia Suspensa is a small fruiting bush. The fruit is commonly called Fructus Forsythia Suspensa, also known as Lian Qiao, and has diuretic and laxative properties and is often used to treat urinary tract infections. It is said to be an antiseptic herb and has been used in Chinese medicine to treat a number of different infections. Forsythia suspensa has been added as an ingredient in some non-prescription diet pills for its diuretic properties, however it is not contained in quantities that would have any effect (6-15 g).
