Effective Dosage: Glutamine (L-glutamine) is effective as a weight loss supplement when provided at a minimum dosage of 2 grams or more. Most diet pills only provide trace amounts of glutamine (L-glutamine), which is not enough for any effect.

 

Glutamine is highly in demand throughout the body. It is used in the gut and immune system extensively to maintain optimal performance. 60% of free-form amino acids floating in skeletal muscles is L-glutamine.

A recent release by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Vol 61, 1058-106) has shown that oral supplementation with 2 grams (about half a teaspoon) of glutamine significantly elevated circulating growth hormone levels. HGH (human growth hormone) has powerful anabolic (muscle building) and fat burning powers, which suggests that Glutamine may be effective in enhancing weight loss.
